Mark 14:35 "They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.... 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.”
"When He rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, He found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow." Luke 22:45
Sorrow is overwhelming and exhausting.
Beth Moore called our place of sorrow--"further still". In Matthew it says He left His disciples and went further still. Beth says there is a time when friends can only go so far with you, then they must stop and pray and you must go alone and meet with your God. You can't look to friends for this comfort or you will be discouraged. They can't give you the peace that Jesus can. God wants you to come alone with Him. You have to work this out with God. Acceptance is the end result. A place of honesty where you may wrestle with the will of God. You can take your bitterness there. It is a place where you emerged changed. We must all journey through the darkness of our own Gethsemane. Having accept the Father's Will over our own, we are then ready to face our own Calvary. Be willing to pay the price to gain something worthwhile in the end.
